Hello Goodbye

Hi, everyone! Mrs. Waterfall  checking in with the lovely ladies of the Hive! I can’t believe that it’s already been a year (and two months) since I first said Hello; and a year (and two months) since I married my favorite person in the whole, entire universe! On our anniversary, my amazing husband surprised me by treating us to a delectable brunch, followed by a day of pure relaxation at the spa, and we finished the night by eating the top layer of our amazing wedding cake. I must say that it tasted delicious, even a year later!
For gifts, I wanted to stick to the paper theme and handmade these lovely canvas prints of some of our favorite wedding photos for Mr. Waterfall. Now, we just need to find the perfect place to display them!
Last, but definitely not least, we celebrated by signing some pretty important paperwork: the deed to our new (old) house! Yup, the Waterfalls are home owners! We’ve been working non-stop renovating and decorating the house since we moved in, and are very excited to turn it into a home!
So what else has changed this year? My health has been without a doubt the biggest hurdle we’ve had to overcome, and we spent one too many nights in the ER, but through it all, Mr. Waterfall held my hand and made me feel better. The good news is that I finally have an official diagnosis for my mysterious illness. The bad news is that my disease is a chronic one, which means that I will likely have to be on medication for the rest of my life. I’m also being followed closely by a specialist and have to go into the hospital every few weeks for blood-work. It hasn’t been easy, but thanks to the treatment, I am finally stable enough to work full time, so I’m back at my old firm, kicking butt and taking names, and it feels fantastic!
We also welcomed a new (furry) addition to the family! Everyone, meet Sir William Waterfall, the First (Will, for short), a ten month-old Cocker Spaniel rescue that has completely stolen our hearts. I stumbled upon his big brown eyes while browsing Petfinder on my lunch break one day, and I knew right away that he was meant to be part of our little family. I mean, just look at that face!
While this officially marks the end of our wedding journey, our marriage is a journey that has only just begun, and I am so looking forward to experiencing it all with my wonderful husband. If you’d like to follow along for the ride, you can check out my blog over at LegallyWedBlog.com where I will be blogging about newlywed life, home renovations, and lots of DIY projects. And of course, Will is bound to make an appearance or two 😉
To my fellow bees, especially my Honeymoon generation bees, it’s been wonderful getting to know each and every one of you. You’ve been a beacon of light through some of my darkest moments this past year, and  were always there to offer advice, commiseration, or just plain laughter, which really is the very best medicine! I am so thankful to be able to call you my friends and I definitely consider myself a bee for life.

To all you wonderful readers, I say thank you. The outpour of love and support I have received blogging for the Bee has far outweighed any negative, so thank you, truly.Thank you for letting me tell my story, for your comments and input, and thank you to those of you who reached out to me via private message. I truly enjoyed interacting with all of you and will miss you all.
Till we meet again,
XOXO, Mrs. Waterfall
